Which formats can I back up my Google Docs to?

For .gdoc files, you can convert to .docx, .odt, .rtf, .pdf, .txt, .html, and .epub for free.

For .gsheet files, you can convert to .xlsx, .ods, .html, .pdf, .csv, and .tsv with a Plus plan.

For .gslides files, you can convert to .pptx, .odf, .pdf, and .txt with a Plus plan.

For .gdraw files, you can convert to .pdf, .jpg, .png, and .svg with a Plus plan.

How does it work?

Bobby converts your Google Docs and downloads them to your local system in the chosen output formats.

What happens to renamed, moved, or deleted files?

If files are renamed in the local system, the rename will not be propagated in the cloud.

If files are renamed in the cloud, the rename is propagated in the local system.

If files in the local system are moved the files will be re-downloaded and placed in the original location. The changes will not propagate in the cloud.

If files are moved in the cloud, the move will propagate in the local system and the files will appear in their new locations respectively. However, a copy of those files will remain in the original location and will be renamed with a "deleted" suffix at the end of the file name to prevent data loss.

If files are deleted in the local system, they should get re-downloaded.

If files are deleted in the cloud, the files that are already downloaded on the local system remain and only get renamed with a "deleted" suffix at the end of the file name.

Can I change formats from .pdf to .docx?

Yes. Files already converted and downloaded can be reconverted into any supported format by simply selecting Edit inside the app and then choosing the format that you want.
